Moldova’s Golden Triumph at EYOF 2025: Climentii Ursu and Alexandra Homutova Make History in Skopje

Skopje, North Macedonia. The Republic of Moldova made history at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF 2025). In the discipline of shooting sport, our athletes delivered record-breaking performances, winning three gold medals and placing the country among the leaders of this prestigious event.

The absolute hero of the festival was Climentii Ursu, who climbed the top step of the podium three times. He won:

  1. 🥇 10 m Air Pistol – Boys (individual event)
  2. 🥇 10 m Air Pistol Solo
  3. 🥇 10 m Air Pistol Duet, together with Alexandra Homutova

In the duet final, the Moldovan team defeated Azerbaijan with a score of 21:19, showing remarkable composure and precision.

The shooters’ success is a breakthrough for our country. For the first time in history, Moldova won gold in shooting at EYOF. Ursu’s and Homutova’s victories placed our delegation among Europe’s best.
